It is easy to notice that great shifts are occurring in the world. Much darkness that was long hidden is revealed, to be cognized, integrated and overcome. This is the time to help each other usher in a new epoch of love and sharing, co-cultivating personal and universal abundance.

The Unconditional Model offers a comprehensive way forward. Paradoxically, the best way to create outer change is to first go within, to remove our blind spots, which unwittingly keep us tied to the dying toxic power paradigm. This is why personal healing is revolutionary.

The Unconditional Model looks at the external power structure, how we fit in and unconsciously participate, and uses interpersonal power dynamics as a new lens into our unmet emotional needs and unresolved trauma. This brings us to a mindful, gentle practice of self-inquiry and acceptance so that whatever we bring to others, personally or professionally, is shared from the heart.

Embodied practices offer a vital aspect of the journey towards greater awareness, connecting us to our hidden inner world, and to the earth.

By undoing our internal power hierarchy, we create equality from within, can meet others from that truly equal playing field and reverse the toxic power structure, collectively creating a new, sacred, sustainable way of living by honoring all life, the earth and all of creation.

Who is this For?

Living in the global power structure, we have all experienced trauma. HeartCore is for anyone who wishes to be more self-aware and unconditionally present to others.

Providers (therapists, yoga instructors, coaches, teachers, healthcare providers), who wish to be more trauma-informed, or interested in incorporating embodied practices. Anyone working with traumatized populations might particularly benefit.

It is not necessary to have a regular yoga practice or worry about physically not being able to do something. The practice will be friendly to all bodies.

Whether you have encountered the darkness directly, work with people who have, are close to someone who has, or want to be better informed to support personal and societal change, this workshop is for you.

What to Expect?

In this two-day workshop, Anneke Lucas and Mark Lilly guide you to clearly and compassionately meet the darkness and allow the light to enter.

We will be addressing the global power (abuse) structure and how our own unresolved trauma unconsciously plugs us into this matrix. We will observe the many ways in which trauma plays out in one’s body, mind and soul, hold space for sharing, and co-create a safer space for healing, redemption and liberation.

We will address overcoming the darkness with light,  compassion, and unconditional love, with a focus on:

Becoming More Conscious of Outer Power Dynamics
We become more conscious of the dark power structures of the world we are living in, and how this affects each one of us individually. Through lecture and examining our own privileges we learn that we have choices and agency.

Becoming More Conscious of our Inner Power Dynamics
We become more conscious of how our inner power dynamics connect to our own trauma through group reflection, journaling (you will receive a questionnaire) and mindfulness practices. We learn how healing ourselves impacts the world.

Healing our Trauma in the Context of Global Change
We practice self inquiry through parts work, in the group and individually supported with guided meditations and exercises (you will receive a work-book). With these practical tools you can heal unresolved trauma: this equalizes our inner power dynamics.

Breath-centered Practices
Conscious breathing brings illumination of hidden inner strength and wisdom, as well as connection with other living beings.

Embodied Yoga Practices
Mindful, trauma-informed yoga practice gives us new pathways for understanding the dynamics of healing and abundance, and offers insight into how the Unconditional Model can be applied in groups.

Extend our Healing and Awareness to Others
Through our own healing, we change the vibration of the Earth and can be present with others in full clarity and compassion. You will learn the four conditions of the Unconditional Model and take these with you. We offer space to create your own, natural reminders to take home.

Pre-requisite: Before you join us for the workshop, it will be helpful to have read Anneke Lucas’ book “Quest for Love: Memoir of a Child Sex Slave,” or at least become acquainted with Anneke’s story and her message. This will give you the background for the workshop, as discussions and shares are likely to touch on challenging subjects. Everything is welcome.

ABOUT YOUR HOSTS

Anneke Lucas is an author, advocate for survivors of SRA, mind control and sex trafficking, and creator of the Unconditional Model.

Having experienced the greatest darkness in childhood, she placed her entire adult life in the context of trauma recovery. Her 35+ year healing journey included much yoga and therapy. In 2008, she started teaching yoga, and in 2012, began training and organizing yoga teachers to enter into the New York Prisons, which led to the founding and directing of the non-profit organization Liberation Prison Yoga. Sharing yoga in the prisons, the Unconditional Model was developed.

Since 2014, Anneke has led many workshops, training therapists, yoga teachers and others in the Unconditional Model. She travels the world to share her story and teach, including a 10-week online Unconditional Model course “Shifting the Power.” Anneke has a private coaching practice where she sees many survivors of extreme abuse, and also hosts peer support platforms online.

Mark Lilly has gone through and responded to PTSD, in part by creating and co-creating organizations such as Street Yoga, Each Amazing Breath, the Yoga Service Council, the Unfurl Project and others. Each of these endeavors has grown from a desire to feel unbroken and whole, wisely interconnected with Earth, and on great terms with all living beings; these works and intentions are ongoing and in progress.

Mark leads breathing and yoga sessions, has taught in hospitals, schools, social service offices, law enforcement agencies, group homes, detention facilities, and worked one-on-one with people who have experienced an extreme range of traumas. People whose courage and strength are precious beacons of beautiful survivorship for us all.

Testimonials:

This course offers an important message for all of us to examine where we project downwards and hurt others due to our unresolved wounds — and equally where we project upward and attribute to others some of our best unclaimed qualities. Anneke teaches that full integration as a human involves a self-examination of all our known and unknown parts, and in particular, the ostracised frightened parts that get pulled into the universal power play of upwards or downwards projections. Refusing to be put on a pedestal, Anneke and Christina bring humility, honesty and integrity as they exemplify authenticity at their very best, inviting participants (and the world at large) to embrace truth and live with honour.

“Shifting the Power, with Love” has absolutely created a huge shift in my own healing. Connecting to the different parts of myself and creating a space in which they can feel safe is a process that keeps rippling through. The tools make it easy to do this work on your own, with the guidance of a template and ebook. But I've also used some of the tools in my practice already, with really deep work in a surprisingly short amount of time.“

— Jorinde Berben

"The concepts of inner power dynamics and privilege, that you presented clearly as forces at work in the world we all live in, are so crucial for critical thinking for all of us at this time. These concepts were also inherent in the story that you shared about your life, and for me, were illuminating.”

— Lesley Becker

"As a trauma survivor myself, I don’t know how I walked into my two-day trauma conscious workshop unprepared. But I suppose that's the nature of the beast - even when you think you’re healing, there is more work to be done. And work I did during my time with Anneke and our lovely, warm, generous group of workshoppers. I rarely discuss my personal trauma outside of the confines of my therapist’s office - I’ve most definitely never shared one iota of my story with a room full of strangers. I did it, though. And even though those few words made me weep, something about those tears and the experience as a whole was cleansing. I’m different. I see the world through a shifted lens these days. Couple that with learning the language of choice and how to truly serve, and the fact remains, I am not just a better teacher, I am a better human. The work LPY does to help incarcerated men, women, and children is inspiring, and Anneke is a gift. I feel blessed to have spent two days in her presence and with our group - I only hope it's the beginning of my LPY/service journey."

— Madhuri Pavamani

It was the most awe inspiring, revealing and transformative training I have ever done. The courage and compassion in the room was beyond my expectations. Thank you!!!

— Jill Lord

"It is not necessary to be compassionate to do service – the opposite is true: service facilitates acceptance of love, which fosters compassion."
